
Sara Ray has been a part of Backyard Writers since 2016. Having grown up in the Maine woods, Sara loves using the moods and emotions of remote places as a way to explore human stories. She is a doctoral candidate in the History of Science at Penn and, in 2017, won First Person Arts’ title of ‘Best Storyteller in Philadelphia.’

Daniel “ViV” Cicala is a poker player emeritus, philosophy dilettante, and wannabe chef. He received his MFA in Fiction from CCNY and writes literary humor and fiction of all lengths. He lives in Wilmington, DE, working as a technical writer and blogger.

Jared Levy was born in Philadelphia, PA and currently lives there, too. He is a proud member of the Backyard Writers Workshop and his stories have appeared in The Quotable, Apiary Magazine, The Machinery, and Matador Review.
Adam has been with The Backyard Writer’s Workshop since 2016. His fiction has been published in the United States and the UK, and his non fiction work has previously appeared online in The Atlantic. This is his first reading in Philadelphia.
