Emma Copley Eisenberg founded the Backyard Writers Workshop in Spring 2011. Her fiction and essays have appeared or are forthcoming in Narrative, Gulf Coast, Cutbank, Meridian, The Rumpus, and elsewhere.  She was the winner of Narrative’s 30 Below Contest, the 2013 Montana Prize for Fiction judged by Maile Meloy, and the 2012 Donald Barthelme Award for Short Prose.  She lives in Charlottesville, Virginia where she is a Henry Hoyns/Poe Faulkner fellow in fiction at UVa.
